Here are a few things worth knowing about the world&#8217;s <a title=\"LinkedIn becomes second most popular social network\" href=\"http:\/\/higheredcareercoach.com\/2011\/07\/13\/linkedin-becomes-second-most-popular-social-network\/\">second most popular social network<\/a>.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong>Some of these facts and perspectives can also be found in <a title=\"Perspective in the LinkedIn IPO from a LinkedIn expert\" href=\" http:\/\/technorati.com\/business\/article\/perspectives-on-the-linkedin-ipo-from\/page-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">an interview of LinkedIn expert Lewis Howes<\/a> that I did a while back on Technorati.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<a title=\"Small Business Online Marketing: 4 Tips for Generating Leads Through LinkedIn\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ask.com\/bar?q=The+average+household+income+of+a+LinkedIn+user+is+%24109%2C000%2C+and+most+of+these+members+are+business+decision+makers.&amp;page=1&amp;qsrc=2891&amp;dm=all&amp;ab=4&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.soundwebsolutions.com%2Fblog%2F2010%2F08%2F17%2Fsmall-business-online-marketing-4-tips-for-generating-leads-through-linkedin%2F&amp;sg=J0HA7kkCDvihz2qeRekvfBWEVwBGiXIKLzf6N1Azsd8%3D%0D%0A&amp;tsp=1306330911803\">average household income of a LinkedIn user is $109,000<\/a>, and most of these members are business decision makers.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Top 10 Reasons on BusinessInsider.Com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/should-i-buy-linkedin-ipo-2011\">LinkedIn has built a registered user base of over 100 million, up from just 32 million in 2008, and is growing at over one person per second.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Should I Buy LinkedIn IPO on BusinessInsider.Com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/should-i-buy-linkedin-ipo-2011\">LinkedIn\u2019s corporate customers have grown since 2008 to over 4.8 million.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"LinkedIn Recruiting Revenue on StaffingIndustryExperts.Com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.staffingindustry.com\/Research-Publications\/Daily-News\/LinkedIn-Recruiting-Revenue-Up-174\">LinkedIn\u2019s hiring solutions revenue for the first quarter of this year totaled $46.3 million compared to $16.9 million in the first quarter of 2010.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>According to Howes, making money, expanding their businesses, networking, and finding a job are probably the most important reasons the average consumer creates a profile and connects with others through LinkedIn.<\/li>\n<li>He also notes that, compared to the way businesses have networked and promoted their services in the past, LinkedIn is more efficient and less expensive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>A while back, I enrolled in LinkedInfluence, an online training course by\u00a0Howes&#8217;s and his business partner Sean Malarkey.\u00a0I have personally gotten a lot out of this course, and I think you will, too. Sean and Lewis are two really well-respected experts on Twitter and LinkedIn. I connected with them on the <a title=\"Sean Cook's 3T affiliate link\" href=\"http:\/\/thirdtribemarketing.com\/aff\/re.php?id=536\" target=\"_blank\">Third Tribe Marketing<\/a> group a while back, and had an opportunity not long ago to interview Lewis for a Technorati article on LinkedIn&#8217;s recent IPO.<\/div>\n<div>LinkedInfluence will help you really understand how to use LinkedIn to expand your professional network and gain career and business leads.\u00a0I personally joined this program and have seen the benefits. I&#8217;ve gained new followers, expanded my network, and been offered new business opportunities based on what I learned.
