RescueTime is a great tool to help you get a handle on how you spend your time. If you are interested, sign up for the free acount through my referral link and I’ll earn two weeks of free RescueTime. Sign up for a paid account, and you’ll help me extend my account by 30 days. This is also a great way for you to get to use this tool, since referrals earn you free time. I’m sure that many of you will be interested after watching my tutorial video.
Also, if you are entrepreneurial at heart but struggle with marketing yourself, learning how to run business, or you just want to be immersed in social media and have the opportunity to learn first-hand from some great business minds, check out Third Tribe. They have an affiliate program, too, so if you sign up through my link, I will earn a commission.I have found the advice I get there to be worth several times the membership cost, and I can safely say that if I have to trim back on expenses, this will be among the last to go. The community there is awesome, and it goes way beyond the founders (Brian Clark, Darren Rowse, Chris Brogan and Sonia Simone).
I hope you found this tour of RescueTime interesting and that you’ll give it a spin. It’s really been helping me, and I think it could help you, too. My best wishes to you as you find ways to rescue time and find more life in your work/life balance.

well, i saw this similar and better solution called kpimatrix (http://www.suzerein.com) at techcrunch lately. they can be viewed from iphone as they dont use flash

Thanks, Dave, I checked it out and it seems to have good features as well. More expensive and seems more geared toward monitoring group productivity for corporate teams, but definitely worth keeping an eye on. I prepaid for the annual rate w/RescueTime, so I will likely stick with it for now. Thanks for passing along the info.

well, there is also TimeCamp (www.timecamp.com) which is cheaper than rescuetime and looks better – awsome colorful and animated charts!

Thanks Paul. I checked it out and it looks really similar many ways. I couldn’t figure out how you came to the conclusion that it’s cheaper. I couldn’t find information about pricing on the site at all, just a place where you can ask for an “offer” (I suppose that means a quote). Do you use TimeCamp? If so, what does it cost? Also, despite some attractive design, I found some grammar and spelling errors on their site and that always makes me wonder about the quality of the product. And no significant testimonials.
I am using RescueTime to track my own productivity, though there is a version managers can use to monitor employee productivity. TimeCamp seems more geared to the latter.
Also, RescueTime has a free version and a Pro version, plus an affiliate program. I paid for the Pro package to take advantage of analytics, and signed up as an affiliate, which earns me extra months using the service for each referral. So far, I have almost a year of free service coming my way just from referrals. So for an individual user, it does what I need it to do and overall is a sweet deal.
But thanks for sharing. It’s good to know there are a lot of options out there. For people like me, so far, I think RescueTime is the best bet.

Log in to the Rescuetime Dashboard on the web and then go to the following support page for directions on how to uninstall. You can also put in support tickets and browse the forums. Good luck.

This should be a 2 minute video on HOW IT WORKS not a diatribe about your product. 2:15 in and I’m bored and STILL have no idea how this thing works. not signing up. just WASTED time… hmmmmm…

Sorry you didn’t like my review of this tool. Just to clarify, it isn’t my product, I am a fan and a user. I’m sorry to have bored you. I hope you didn’t spend too long writing your comment. I didn’t feel I was going on a “diatribe” since I was enthusiastic, not bitter, and I actually praised the product, rather than denouncing it. The best way to figure out whether a tool will work for you is to try it, and the best way to give a review is to give specific and thoughtful feedback. Thanks for trolling on over. Best of luck with your time management struggles. One thing I do when things annoy me on the internet is to quit reading them.
